Situation: As a result of annual employee satisfaction surveys for several years running, a $3.3 billion credit union knew it had to do something about its poor leadership practices and performance coaching. While highly profitable financially, the organization placed value on being an engaging, employer of choice. For that reason alone, it had to act.
Action: We designed and installed a comprehensive performance management system that increased capability to plan, track and assess individual and organizational performance. We conducted launch training for both leaders and employees. This was followed by one-on-one coaching that equipped leaders to better deal with long-standing performance issues and recognize plus reward their high-performing team players.
Results: Increased organizational capacity to manage performance; improvement plans to deal with performance issues; retention of key talent; individualized action plans for continuous development that create engagement and commitment.
